CASE STUDY: Interactive Kiosk Proposal

click 'start' to demo part 1
Who is that in front of the orchestra, waving that stick around? This project was conceived from my own personal experiences, as I realized not many people understand what the conductor of a musical ensemble actually does. Developed at Ohio State, under the guidance of Professor R. Brian Stone, it attempts to communicate, through demonstration and interaction, the role of the conductor of an ensemble. It leverages successful concepts from music-based interactive games such as Dance Dance Revolution, Donkey Konga, Guitar Hero, and Rock Band, as well as a very scaled down abstraction of conducting pedagogy, to create an engaging educational experience for all ages. It is a subset of my research into interactivity, educational tools, game design theory, and the design of fun experiences.

With Erika Svanoe, Mark Tryon, and Richard Clark, content specialists in conducting pedagogy
